Role purpose

The Technology Audit Manager is responsible for leading and delivering end to end technology reviews covering IT, infrastructure, security and operational audits across the Group, identifying control gaps and process improvements. This is a hands on position which will provide the successful candidate autonomy, opportunity to add value and gain exposure to senior stakeholders.  


Key accountabilities

  • Deliver and/or lead technology and operational audit assignments across Colt locations in a timely and efficient manner, participating in all stages of the audit from planning, execution, reporting and follow-up.
  • Manage the delivery of a portfolio of audit assignments to a high quality in accordance with our audit methodology, within budget and agreed timelines.
  • Engage stakeholders to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the business under review, build trust and credibility with stakeholders throughout the audit process.
  • Develop and communicate meaningful value added audit findings and reports that provide clarity on the impact (root cause and risks) and inspire action from management.
  • Track and monitor management action plans to ensure sustainable resolution of control gaps and timely closure.
  • Build business partnerships with key stakeholders to assist them in embedding a robust control framework.
  • Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of the audit function through automation (e.g. implementation of audit tools, data analytics and risk/control monitoring).
  • Provide coaching to junior staff members (e.g. graduates/lead auditors) on audit methodology and practices. Manage and motivate them to deliver high quality work.

  • Exposure to the Chiefs, VPs and Senior Managers across Colt in all territories.

Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Background – Experienced internal audit manager or senior internal auditor (minimum 7 years’ experience) who has worked in fast moving environments with immature/developing risk/control frameworks. Candidates with an external audit background will need to demonstrate good experience of controls on risk and assurance assignments. Ability to operate in a flat organisational structure with direct exposure to Executives. Experience in technology services and telecommunications is preferable, but not essential.


  • Technology Experience – Significant experience and strong knowledge across key technology domains methodology and practices, including infrastructure (networks, databases and operating systems), cyber security, ITIL practices, data analytics, applications (ERP and cloud solutions) and emerging technologies. Demonstrates a proven track record in conducting technology reviews, advising and influencing business stakeholders on the design, implementation and effective application of IT controls.


  • Commercial Focus – Demonstrates a proven track record of identifying, assessing and evaluating risks and controls, advising business stakeholders through providing insight and innovative commercial solutions, from a risk perspective, while understanding the commercial view. 


  • Communication and Influencing Skills – Proven track record in building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Able to manage complex internal and external relationships demonstrating influence and a supportive style.


  • Problem Solving and Analytical Skills – Ability to quickly understand and critically analyse complex IT processes, identify and assess potential risks and determine whether these risks are appropriately mitigated.



  • Educated to degree level or above (bachelors or masters) in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, Cyber Security or other IT related subject.
  • Relevant post qualification in IT, auditing and security (CISA/CISM/CISSP/ITIL/COBIT)
  • International experience is desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and data analytics.



  • Travel opportunities to Europe, India and/or Asia.  Candidate should be able to travel up to 20%.
