Role purpose

Reporting to the Sale Specialist Director; the role consists of developing strategy, tactics and sales plans, in conjunction with all go to market sales teams, to target specific accounts and opportunities that will drive growth in total revenues, majoritively, from the SDWAN Product group.


  • Opportunity detection, generation, qualification and requirements gathering
  • Commercial solution design including pricing, win solution and governance compliance
  • Commercial and product expertise to the bid during the sales phase
  • Developing and presenting the compelling business case both internally and externally
  • As a Subject Matter Expert supporting Product & Process Development as required



Key accountabilities

  • Help evangelise COLT to internal and external customers to detect and generate opportunities.
  • Winning new business across Voice product lines and associated Data products that are aligned to a customer’s Digital Transformation strategy
  • Ensure timely and accurate qualification of opportunities.
  • Maintain a high degree of and thorough knowledge of all Colt products, services capabilities.
  • Maintain a high degree of and thorough knowledge of the markets being sold to
  • Develop plans and strategies to meet and exceed the company’s SDWAN revenue targets
  • Monitor competitor and market activity/trends and provide feedback in to Colt’s product and business teams
  • Critically evaluate 3rd Party partners and all Colt concerned departments to ensure solutions are fit for customer requirements
  • Work cooperatively with a wide range of internal stakeholders for deal success
  • Support contract construction and predict / overcome client concerns
  • Meet and work closely with the customer to understand their business objectives, needs, requirements and compelling criteria to convert into a winning strategy.
  • Partner with the sales engineering team to support the most appropriate solution to the customer.
  • Identify and quantify the associated gaps and risks within the sales strategy in conjunction with Commercial/Bid management, and other sales supporting entities whenever appropriate.
  • Adherence to Colt governance processes, tools and sales methodology.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in an overlay sales position.
  • Proven track record of leading and winning large, complex and strategic global deals
  • Subject matter expertise; global telecommunications &competitive landscape
  • Subject matter expertise; latest SDWAN solution landscapes and specific knowledge of Viptela, Versa and VeloCloud.
  • High level knowledge Exceptional negotiation and influencing ability
  • of digital transformation, voice and data architectural design
  • Accustomed to engaging and presenting to influence at all levels
  • Strong ability to convert customer requirements in to written documentation and proposals
  • Excellent understanding of ICT customer challenges, technologies and the competitive environment.
  • Experience in working with international teams.
  • Commercial Acumen - good understanding of pricing strategies, financial analysis methods and negotiation strategies
