Key Accountabilities

 

  • 3rd Level Incident Management
  • Problem Management (Services & Infrastructure)
  • Access Control
  • Request Fulfilment
  • Accept technology, services or solutions into Operations from Service Build and Transition. (TIP’s, NPD’s)
  • Change Approval/ Change Implementation and creation of works packages.
  • Major Network Incident coordination and resolution.
  • Input & consulted on Service Strategy.
  • Input and consulted on Service Design.
  • Service level management for 3rd party vendors.
  • Financial Management
  • Continuous service/network improvement.
  • Monitoring (Limited)
  • Application Management
  • Generate reports for complex and major incidents.

 

Experience

 

  • Typically has previous experience at Systems Technician level or above within a major IT vendor or Blue Chip company
  • In depth knowledge of relevant platforms, networks, routing protocols, troubleshooting tools, Voice technology
  • Has an excellent knowledge and understanding of COLT’s existing products and services
  • Displays total commitment to COLT Customer Service SLAs and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has a logical/methodical approach to fault finding.
  • Quickly assesses priorities and confidently suggests appropriate business decisions
  • Controls complex technical situations in a calm and professional manner
  • The ability to write clear and concise technical documents.
  • Flexible approach and an ability to operate effectively with uncertainty and change; operates effectively in a highly complex matrix organisation
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • The ability to deliver technical training.
  • Personal focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • Proactive in responding to customer needs and requirements
  • Project management skills.
  • Proven practical experience in a Service Assurance environment (3rd level telecommunications support)
  • Strong technical background on TDM and VoIP technologies (Siemens EWSD, Alcatel Lucent IN, Sonus IMS, Nortel DMS are desirable) and protocols (IP, SIP, H323, ETSI ISUP, INAP, etc)
  • Very good technical understanding of Voice Products (both TDM and VoIP)
  • Desired technical background on TCP and IP network technologies and related network equipment maintenance and configuration, ie. Cisco, Juniper,Alcatel.
  • Desired technical background on IT server technologies and related network equipment maintenance, ie. HP, RedHat
  • Desired basic scripting knowledge ( ie : Bash, Perl, Python )
  • The ability to communicate at management level and understand the commercial impact on decisions.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Educated to undergraduate level in Engineering
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), second European language desirable
